Two Poems By Michael R. Burch

Medusa

Friends, beware
of her iniquitous hair—
long, ravenblack & melancholy.

Many suitors drowned there—
lost, unaware
of the length & extent of their folly.

The Beat Goes On (and On and On and On ...)

Bored stiff by his board-stiff attempts
at “meter,” I crossly concluded
I’d use each iamb
in lieu of a lamb,
bedtimes when I’m under-quaaluded.

Michael R. Burch’s poems have been published by hundreds of literary journals and set to music by nine composers.
