While Taking Notes By Jason Visconti

While Taking Notes

Suddenly the blackboard is not the point of the room,
the teacher is an escort through wasted air,
sitting quietly is an invented rule,
and though the body has its place anywhere
we are simply this room’s appointed fool.

Jason Visconti has attended both group and private poetry workshops. His work has appeared in various journals, including “Blazevox”, “Valley Voices”, and “The American Journal of Poetry”. He especially enjoys the poetry of Pablo Neruda and Billy Collins.
