Two Poems By Bonnie Solloway

THE WALKS OF L.A. LIFE

Some walk with determination
as if they’re running late
Phone talkers slow walk crosswalks
while drivers wait irate
Tourists on beachfront boardwalks
stroll four and five abreast
Oblivious to the runners
whose lanes’ now dispossessed
Gen-Z Girls with phone charms
sashay in provocative wear
Talking and giggling and happy
like the rest of the world’s not there
The Homeless trudge with a hesitancy
a slow yet methodical gait
Where could they possibly go
Day after day after day?
We dare not ponder too long
our lives have their own disarray
The ADD’s of POETRY

Poem writing
Settle down
Visions flying
All around

Theme selected
Ready…set…..
Pencil missing
Search begets

Bathroom stop
Eyebrow tweezing
Pillow fluffing
Bedspread pleasing

Pencil found
Notebook too
Theme forgotten
Start anew

Glance outside
Gorgeous day
Quickie swim
Sunblock spray

Under water
Sudden cheer
Perfect rhymes
Flowing clear

Hurry out
Toweling dry
Back inside
Energized

Pencil, Notebook
Favorite Chair

Ready… Set….

Nothing There.
