When Heaven Falls to Heaven By Maggie Palmer

                                                     When Heaven Falls to Heaven

When heaven falls to heaven
And rain streaks down to meet
Its rippling grey reflection,
The sleek fish rise, and greet

Us dwellers of the drylands,
      As though they somehow knew
The falling drops were thick enough
That they could breathe here too.

Maggie Palmer lives with her family in Fort Hood, Texas, when not studying English and Classical Philology at the University of Dallas. Her poems have appeared in The Lyric Magazine, Minnow Literary Magazine, and Mezzo Cammin, as well as various university publications.
